There are 2 types of dandruff:
Dry dandruff: associated with excessive sebum production and disruption of scalp cell renewal. This dandruff has the appearance of white powder, does not stick to the hair and falls on the shoulders. Dry dandruff mostly affects dry or normal scalp.
Oily dandruff: it is associated with the development of the microorganism Malassezia furfur, which breaks down sebum and causes desquamation.
